A month later....

As of August 4th, my husband and I have been married 4 years! How did we celebrate you ask? We went to Disneyland! For the second year in a row Disneyland has been the spot for our anniversary getaway! I'm not complaining! I'm still a kid at heart and I love it there! Although JD and I agreed that if you go too often you might lose a little of the magic! I hope that never happens! I realized a bit too late that we had no pictures with both of us. Oops. I swear we like eachother! We tried to get in as many pictures with characters as possible without really being with them....
JD only wanted to take a picture with Pluto...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 160px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/TIhp7Ift35I/AAAAAAAAAUk/AcyF4Tj5UPY/s320/disneyland2010-2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514774208328884114" />

...And I tried to get one with Aladdin in the background and ended up with some person's backside!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 160px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/TIhrlk9CRgI/AAAAAAAAAU0/kwiop-TOd3w/s320/disneyland2010-4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514776037034182146" />

I have to say, this was the strangest picture of the bunch, not so much because I'm wearing a racoon hat,but because it smelled like a racoon and I still put it on my head.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 160px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/TIhtCMZXS2I/AAAAAAAAAVM/Mmij9n27zio/s320/disneyland2010-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514777628169948002" />

4 years and I still love you Hubby! This year for our Anniversary JD and I took a trip to DISNEYLAND! Just the two of us. Emma stayed with her grandma and we drove out to California! I can't even tell you home much fun it was! We stayed just down the street, and I am almost ashamed to admit I didn't sleep well the night before we went to the park. I honestly don't know if it was because of Disneyland or just the first night in a different bed. We spent a whole day going all over the park! We were so beat by the time the day was over, but I would not let us go to our hotel because I was afraid we wouldn't make it back to the park. I can't wait to go back!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/Sql_gZRBVHI/AAAAAAAAARU/BblbVsKtH3U/s320/IMG_0591.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379971424385586290" />
This is the best picture of JD and I, we are just about to ride our first ride- Matterhorn Mtn!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/Sql_gxacYiI/AAAAAAAAARc/AJdtxoSPnog/s320/IMG_0600.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379971430867558946" />
Waiting in line to sit down in the ac...oh yeah, and see Honey I Shrunk the Audience

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/Sql_hWsHyjI/AAAAAAAAARk/FRDSAMF3Uw4/s320/IMG_0601.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379971440873818674" />
Waiting in the never ending line for Space Mtn, my new favorite ride!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/Sql_ieWDQ4I/AAAAAAAAARs/U_KLuvIxAgI/s320/IMG_0605.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379971460108600194" /> Just a little posing.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SqmACTMtXaI/AAAAAAAAASE/p9Gb767YQEo/s320/IMG_0612.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379972006872440226" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/Sql_i6zH8oI/AAAAAAAAAR0/LwD80QjnSR0/s320/IMG_0611.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379971467746734722" />
This was on the Buz Lightyear ride. It was so much fun! Mom and Dad brought along their new toy and generously shared it with us all so we could explore everything around the house we were staying in in Parks.
The first half of our vacation was in Parks, AZ so we could be close to the Grand Canyon and visit.
For the second half, it was just my parent's children and we went to Sedona, AZ for a relaxing time. We enjoyed the view, went to Out of Africa, and each took a turn showing our cooking skills! My oldest brother, his wife and two kids also made it down for the family fun. We spent the weekend relaxing, feeding ducks, playing games (and wii), going to church, having an easter egg hunt, and eating some yummy food. Thanks to Mom and Dad for letting us stay with you and taking care of all of us. We took a few family photos on Sunday, but the rest I will have to get from my mom.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SeOr0Zh7ekI/AAAAAAAAAPs/pgaKVRD-ja0/s320/IMG_0420.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324288101176801858" />
Family Photo=Bleh

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SeOrz_TQFrI/AAAAAAAAAPk/cZbDUwZ8DI4/s320/IMG_0436.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324288094135916210" />
We had to feed Emma and her cousin Benjamin chocolate to try and get them to pose...didn't work to well

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SeOrzkjccZI/AAAAAAAAAPc/aI1AzhTYwSg/s320/IMG_0419.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324288086956077458" />
Here is Emma practicing for the easter egg hunt

The PC and me!

Okay guys, I am really going to do it. So, this is my official announcement. If anyone would like to have a show (for a kitchen show i would actually go in to your home or do it at my home and the other option is a catalouge show where you just give your friends the info and most of it is done by phone) or if you need just a random thing or two, I'm your gal! We weren't doing gifts and so it was mostly about spending time with eachother. JD Surprised me with a boquet of beautiful flowers the Thursday before Valentine's Day and I was so excited about getting to enjoy them open on Valentine's Day. I had been watching the food network a ton before this and JD and I had both started drooling when we saw someone make asian dumplings. Mmmm. I decided I would try my hand at it for the big day and just see how it worked out. I actuall went to an asian market for some of the ingredients. It was a really neat store. All kinds of things you aren't used to seeing in a store like Frys or Bashas. We ate dumplings and Emma ate pizza. It was a really good day! We did a Friday-Saturday celebration, so Friday was the dinner and Saturday we went and saw a movie. I love that there is a day set aside for pink and hearts and I guess to show love :) JD thinks it all is a bit silly, but I still like it.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SbFiSRcckUI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/wLXAZsnjZrc/s320/IMG_0368.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5310133501706408258" />
My attempt at making a romantic looking dinner

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SbFiSIRRbXI/AAAAAAAAAPI/Ou7eRiZMjL0/s320/IMG_0369.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5310133499243621746" />
Some of these were crispy, but I actually liked the crunch (not saying that just because I messed up)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SbFiR6sf82I/AAAAAAAAAPA/uyHM1t-N2K8/s320/IMG_0370.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5310133495599723362" />
My pretty flowers openening up

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SbFiRJFR4xI/AAAAAAAAAO4/rX2eLrPVTlQ/s320/IMG_0373.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5310133482281886482" />
E-monster sharing with Belle

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SbFiQ3LltPI/AAAAAAAAAOw/m-NfadRI6eM/s320/IMG_0376.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5310133477476513010" />

Aunt Cindy

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 229px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SawYc2M6TII/AAAAAAAAAOA/TgnxJKSJK5g/s320/02_26_Lay_Cynthia_jpg_20090226.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5308644944628042882" />

I waited and waited to post anything about this because I just didn't know what to say. My cousins have all said it best in their blogs, but I still have felt like I would like to say something about my mom's youngest sister. Last Tuesday around 6 am I got a phone call from my mom telling me that my Aunt Cindy had died that morning. She had battled with a rare blood disorder for somewhere close to nine years, and this past year she had a bone marrow transplant that doctor's were hoping would take care of her condition. There were so many complications after her transplant, but she never lost hope and always seemed to fight over each medical mountain that was placed in front of her. I saw her after her transplant, when she had no hair and was swollen because her kidneys weren't working right, but she was so happy and making jokes. It was hard to believe she was as sick as she was.
When my mom called me that Tuesday it hit me so hard. It hit the whole family hard. I had always expected a miracle, the one that would take away her pain and leave her healthy and strong and without disease. One of my cousins reminded me that she had so many little miracles throughout this disease. Her life was prolonged for who knows how much extra time, and that was a blessing and a miracle for her whole family.
My Aunt Cindy had the sweetest voice, once you heard it, you would never forget it. I have a million memories of things she has said to me or to others, and I am so glad I can remember that voice of hers! She was so kind and always cared about others before herself. She was a great example of being faithful and enduring to the end. I am so grateful to her and to my mother and all of my Aunt's for being the kind of women I can aspire to be. I just want her to know I love her and I am so glad has no more pain ans is healthy, strong, and without disease. I love you with all my heart Aunt Cindy!

Flowers and Spice and everything Nice

A few weeks ago JD and I decided to get things ready to plant our vegetable and flower garden this year. We also added a spice garden! I can never choose what flowers to get because I love them all. I made a second trip a week later and picked up some snap dragons and another narcissus. Am I a complete dork? Our herbs and spices haven't come up yet, maybe it's still too cold, but we have lettuce and strawberries and some baby carrot sprouts so far.
This is from the day I planted the garden...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SZsC9689e1I/AAAAAAAAANw/CiKbzPGv1Ls/s320/IMG_0333.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303836248979110738" />
This is what it looks like now. A few of her favorite things to do are pull all the books off the bookshelf and get in to the pantry to pull things off the shelves in there. I can usually keep her out of the places I don't want her to go by shutting the door, but now she can open the doors by herself! I thought we had the house baby proofed, but she managed to get in to one of our cupboards and drop my crock-pot top and it shattered! I have dropped that thing a million times and nothing has happened. Leave it up to a baby to figure out how to break things! Besides making messes she now opens the door to the laundry room and gets handfuls of the dog food to feed to Belle. So cute, but so dirty! Oh, what is a mom to do? I guess taking pictures is my only option.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SZr5bz5eh5I/AAAAAAAAANY/w2y1o4JsoQI/s320/IMG_0313.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303825767365248914" />
I can't believe she is big enough to open doors!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SZr5bnNWkrI/AAAAAAAAANQ/7CsEAgZSJYA/s320/IMG_0310.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303825763958952626" />
This is a whole box of corn starch! This year we spent Christmas with the Tate's in Phoenix. We had a great Christmas Eve with the whole family. We read The Nativity and the kids (and some adults-including JD the donkey) acted it out. It was so cute to see Emma dressed up as Mary. Grandma Tate also did a fishing game and the kids had fun going fishing for toys. Emma wasn't quite as interested in it as I was.

Having Christmas in Phoenix means we get to spend Christmas morning with just our little family. We had a few little mishaps (like Emma throwing up) before we could get going with all the festivities. Emma was really excited this year. She started with her stocking and needed a little coaxing to figure out what she was supposed to do, but she did much better with the presents. She helped open the presents and gave each one a hug, including the clothes. She even sat on her Noah's Ark (not a riding toy) and was having so much fun!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SYSenr3VaHI/AAAAAAAAANA/TccmTE3NFDU/s320/IMG_0300.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297533466321447026" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SYSeno-k9cI/AAAAAAAAAM4/2nqioqjrzXg/s320/IMG_0299.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297533465546520002" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SYSenSksoJI/AAAAAAAAAMw/zdf3R9g-De4/s320/IMG_0286.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297533459532390546" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SYSem_ucEkI/AAAAAAAAAMo/1kcgscyAyDc/s320/IMG_0284.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297533454472974914" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SYSemqTTGEI/AAAAAAAAAMg/2aLtOvqYm60/s320/IMG_0280.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297533448721995842" />
We went back over to the Tate's for some good food and some time with the family. The whole family had the chance to go to Texas for Ben's graduation. After getting his bachelors in industrial engineering he went back to school for an MBA. We all flew down and spent a long weekend crashing in Ben and Cindy's house. Thanks for the hospitality! The kids had a blast and so did the adults. We were able to play Wii (so much fun) and have a mini Christmas since we were all together. We were even able to share a little Christmas with others and take them some baskets with food and games and other wonderful things.
Grandma and Grandpa Gilbert did a great job with the gift for the kids. Kid laptops and tents were a hit all around. There was even a visit from Santa who brought EVERYONE something special. Emma wasn't too sure about him. I have to admit one of my FAVORITE parts of the trip was a night at Chuck E Cheese (where a kid can be a kid). I don't have any pictures of this right now, but I will add some when I get some.

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving all of my side of the family met down in Thatcher to hang out and eat some yummy food. It was so nice to be all there together. I miss having all of my siblings close. The nieces (yes there are finally two girls) and nephews all had fun playing together and getting to know each other again. We were able to shoot off rockets and just hang out and have a good time. Here I go making up for lost time. get ready for a bunch of posts. Emma's Halloween was bitter sweet. At the trunk or treat she got her first taste of a lollipop and she loved it! This year was Emma's first time going and she had a lot of fun with her cousins and grandparents. The first night we were there we had the kids get into their Halloween costumes for a picture, so here is a little preview of what I will be posting after Halloween...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SQTGOz7q6mI/AAAAAAAAAIA/72bUMaFiO3w/s320/50.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261548222436534882" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SQTGOSiSuuI/AAAAAAAAAH4/vWF-4M2VgjI/s320/48.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261548213471722210" />
The next day we headed down to Apple Annie's Orchard and found the perfect pumpkin....and the perfect poser..
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SQTGmmSYnqI/AAAAAAAAAII/XqGfU2kgha8/s320/12.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261548631090568866" />
Emma had a blast with all of the pumpkins and little gourds. With everything cooling down we have been able to spend more and more time outside! Emma loves it! From playing in the backyard to swinging, she is having so much fun, and so am I. About a week or two ago it was cool enough to go to the park and Emma tried swinging for the first time. She was so happy in that little swing she could not stop smiling. Yesterday she got together with her cousin and shared a swing, you'll see how cute it was....

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SPTsyuMbNmI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/OCVKbVQltz0/s320/850A0094.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257087021185971810" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SPTsy_zw_QI/AAAAAAAAAHY/PHq-AqOgc_c/s320/850A0102.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257087025914379522" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SPTszz0XvjI/AAAAAAAAAHg/bETgxTLKYOs/s320/IMG_0167.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257087039875563058" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SPTs0LbjTOI/AAAAAAAAAHo/ugThDnF8hXw/s320/IMG_0170.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257087046213913826" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SPTs0QgpIrI/AAAAAAAAAHw/5wC0ssD8_Cc/s320/IMG_0175.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257087047577445042" />

The zoo! Wahoo!

Emma and her cousins went to the zoo a few weeks back to check out the animals and say hi to a zebra or two. It was a fun trip over all, but it was still BLASTED HOT! We saw giraffes, zebras, the big tree house, and then we watched her cousins on the carousel before getting back in to our nice air conditioned cars! Alright! Now that the weather is cooling down we will have to make a trip back to let her take a peek at more of her fuzzy friends.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SPFmCGysv9I/AAAAAAAAAG4/BLLfqxC_3KU/s320/IMG_0159.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256094426487111634" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SPFmCY8sSSI/AAAAAAAAAHA/gR-dtjsFslE/s320/IMG_0149.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256094431360862498" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SPFmCQGd3fI/AAAAAAAAAHI/C8ljIXnu0Wg/s320/IMG_0151.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256094428985941490" />

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://jdandkimtate.blogspot.com/2008/10/zoo-wahoo.html' title='The zoo! My mom has been trying to hand off her business...selling pampered chef. If I did do this I would need to do some catalogue shows (not really interested in going and showing my wares-people know what it is, right?). I really love the stuff and would like to sell, I just don't know if anyone would be interested in holding a catalogue show or buying anything. I wouldn't want to try and get started with this and fall flat on my face. So, just throwing it out there....is anyone interested?
Or...
Does anyone know a way to earn a little extra money from home?

Am I biased or is she cute?

I couldn't help putting a few of these pictures on here. Sleeping shots are always so cute I just had to put a few on here. While the house was torn up getting remodeled Emma would take her naps in my bedroom. I had to find ways to calm her down and get her to go to sleep so I would give her "Katie-bear" to play with, and this is what happened.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SK32YkfdLAI/AAAAAAAAAF4/rXMijlaQK2M/s320/IMG_0065.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237112843674659842" />

And then sometimes she just passes out like her mom....

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gEUTRUTBhZo/SK32o643O5I/AAAAAAAAAGA/-h3zqqW5SIM/s320/IMG_0084.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237113124564712338" />

This is my little miss mischief. The Texas Tates were here so there were kids for Emma to watch and play with. We went bowling and had dessert at our house (newly remodeled I might add). It was so much fun, just don't ask me my bowling score. Not because it was bad, just because I don't remember it. No, but really, it was terrible. Emma was loving watching Jeffery and Jack run around. Jeffery was very possessive of his bowling ball and told both JD and me that we were not allowed to use it. Life is getting a little crazier around here. Emma is a crawling maniac! She goes where she wants, when she wants, and does whatever she wants. She's got sass (just like her mom if you ask JD). She loves to go exploring in our house. Just the other day she discovered her first FORT! She crawled under her exer-saucer by herself and just hung out there while we cleaned the kitchen and worked on making food. She has also made a few more discoveries- the doggy door, the dog food, and the dirt in our potted plant. I have yet to capture a picture because my first thought is the stop the dog food or from entering her opened mouth and prevent my munchkin from discovering the door isn't the only think that leads to the outdoors.
We have also had a few additions to our family. My sister had a baby girl named Brooklyn (not sure how she is spelling it) and my sister-in-law had a baby boy named Calvin shortly after. I have pictures of Calvin, but I have had limited time with Brooklyn so maybe some other time. They are both so cute and I am excited Emma has so many little people to play with!

SPLISH SPLASH

YAY! Emma got in the pool for the first time ever! Well, not the big pool, but her cute little pool. I had been coveting this CUTE giraffe pool that sprays water out its mouth and has a little slide. Finally I broke down and bought it, and I'm so glad I did. Our pool is still too cold to get in so we filled up her little pool with warmer water and let Emma splash away! She had so much fun! The dog even thought it looked fun and climbed up the slide (by herself-wish I had a picture of that) and came in the pool!

6 Months of LIFE

Emma is 6 months old today! I can't believe it! She really is growing up in a big hurry! For about the last week or so she has been trying to crawl. She will prop herself up on her hands and knees and rock or she will do a little bit of the army slide forward. She's been able to move a few inches that way. She is really good at moving backwards too. She scooted backwards from the carpet in front of our kitchen all the way into our bedroom. It is really time to baby-proof now.

Walks With My Baby

Summer is just about here so Emma and I are trying to take advantage of the Spring-ish weather before we melt! We went for a few walks this week and it was so sunny I decided to have Emma wear the sunglasses her Grandma Gilbert gave her. I couldn't stop laughing! She actually loved them! I have been so excited for this Summer! I can't wait to introduce Emma to all of the things I loved as a kid. True, she is too young to appreciate all of them right now, but I have been waiting for this since she was born! Swimming, walking outside in the warm night air, and good old summer shannanigans. I LOVE this time of year!

Growing Up

She was standing infront of her Daddy's legs. YAY! Emma is reaching some fun milestones, and I love watching her every day to see what she is going to come up with next. Her personality is starting to show, and I often find a whole day gone because I sat down to play with her instead of cleaning or getting something done. Emma can now sit up by herself and roll completely over to both sides. She has also started eating baby food mixed with her cereal. Mmmm Carrots! Emma is now trying out a sippy cup too. So far she has done really well! She is such a sweet girl and loves to give her Mommy hugs, which I LOVE! I am enjoying every day with my baby girl.

Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired!

The Zoo! I blame JD for bringing this dreaded disease into our home (bless his heart). JD wound up sick during his Spring Break which of course is no fun at all. He was sick for twelve days, and still can't hear out of one of his ears all the way because of the ear infection. I thought my immune system would keep me healthy, but I guess I need to be eating a few more veggies! I got sick around the end of Spring Break (when JD started to feel better) and I am still battling this monster! The funny thing is everyone who found out I was sick thought I was pregnant again! Come on people....why didn't you think that when JD was sick?

My sister and her boys came just around the time I was a day or two into it, but I pushed the nastiness aside and went to the Zoo (the Pioneers would be proud). Emma did have an interesting Zoo experience. It was the first time since she's been born that someone thought she was a boy, not once, but twice! Granted, she was dressed boyish with a white shirt and jeans, but I did make sure to put a BIG bow on her head. People!

Family

My Pride, My Joy

Family Picture time. Grandma and Grandpa came to visit on their way back home and realized they needed to be up here on Monday. Emma was so excited to get a whole weekend in of playing with them, and JD and I were excited to have babysitters so we could go on a date (YAY!). We even did a little shopping for Emma and bought her a swim suit for this summer! It has a ballerina tutu! Sunday we made a spur of the moment decision to go visit the 'Northern' siblings and we trecked up there and back in one day. We were a little worried about the drive with Emma, but she played with her toys (she is getting so good with her hands!) and played with Daddy until she was sleepy enough to nap the rest of the way. Emma loved being around other kids! I hadn't noticed before how much she loves to watch them play! Cousins Isaac and Matthew showed her the ropes of playing hard and even rocked her to sleep (by jumping on the bed while Grandma held Emma). Both boys like to try and help out with Emma. They give her her binki (although it is sometimes upside-down) and Isaac even buckled Emma's dirty diaper into her carseat. What a helper! I wish I had a picture of that!
Emma has started doing this really odd new thing. She tucks her chin into her neck and then she makes a really strange grunting noise, JD says it sounds like a dinosaur. I can't figure out what she is doing! She is also really in to giving open mouthed kisses, so if you aren't careful you will get a slobbered on cheek. She loves to kiss everyone...even herself!

Growing Up

Like all new things I'm sure I will blog non stop and then....nothing. Emma has been a great sleeper lately! She has always had long stretches, but she is sleeping consistently from 8:30 or 9:00pm to 7:00am! I love it, love it, love it! Nighttime is now peaceful and not something to dread. While I love this schedule, I think JD is disappointed she is already asleep when he gets home. I feel so bad for him. He goes and goes all day long. First work, and then school. He leaves when Emma is asleep and most nights comes home when she is already down for the night. Sometimes a whole day can pass without him seeing her awake! He tells me she changes every time he sees her and he just wants to hold her even if she is asleep. He is such a great husband and dad! I don't deserve a man as great as he is. He changes diapers, rocks her to sleep, they watch suns games together, he deals with both of our whining, does the dishes, serenades Emma with the guitar, and constantly tries to take the baby to give me a break. I don't think any other man would be as good to me or as good for me as he is. Anyone married to a Tate boy knows they are almost infuriatingly (is that even a word) patient and even tempered, but that is just what this little family needs!

On to something different...I am having trouble with something. When Emma first came home from the hospital we had her sleep in a miniature bed thing between JD and me. She graduated from that and we moved her to her bassinet (still in our room). Even though she was just two feet from the bed I still had a hard time adjusting because I could not hear her constant breathing at night and know she was okay. It was hard for me to sleep well with the new arrangements. I have now...finally...come to terms that Emma needs to sleep in her crib since she is sleeping soundly through the night. The problem is, her room is all the way across the house and I don't know how well I will deal with that! I'm sure she will be just fine, but I'm too attached to having my little baby so close! I feel like such a crazy obsessive mother! What's a girl to do?

Starting Off

Emma is finally asleep! She never naps, and on this momentous occasion I find myself creating a blog! Oh what my life has become...and on that note, I shall write.

Life has been flying by! I mean, ever since JD and I were married we haven't stopped and I can't help but feel I have not really, truly, enjoyed the moment. We were only married about seven months when I found out I was pregnant and I kept looking forward to the day I would get to see her cute face and hold her. I'll admit, I did not enjoy pregnancy. I was sick, and by the time I wasn't sick anymore I was HUGE and didn't really enjoy that too much. I couldn't sleep and I ached all over! Now that I am done complaining....I did enjoy feeling my baby move and bonding with her even before she was born. I started to notice my hand would always find its way to my belly, comforting my unborn baby and feeling so much love for someone I hadn't even met yet. Then, she was born. I still have a hard time believing she has been here four months, but I am honestly enjoying the moment now. The first three months were tough, and maybe they haven't gotten any easier, but appreciating what I have and enjoying my family, the thing that makes me happier than anything else, has brought a little perspective to my life. Now I see each moment for what it is.

Emma has started to interact more and has become aware of the world around her. She can roll on her sides from her back, and often does to position herself so she can watch tv. She loves the moving pictures and colors. She grabs on to her toys and stuffs them in her mouth and she grins SO BIG! She has really strated to laugh out loud and jibber jabber in her cute little baby language. She is no longer my new born. Something I am really sad about.
