Caught in the act- GROSS!

She does this all day long, so I just had to wait with my camera while I was working on laundry to catch these shots. In the first one she was bobbing for a piece of food that got dropped in the water.

Emma-You're so silly

Oh my goodness! Life is getting a little crazier around here. Emma is a crawling maniac! She goes where she wants, when she wants, and does whatever she wants. She's got sass (just like her mom if you ask JD). She loves to go exploring in our house. Just the other day she discovered her first FORT! She crawled under her exer-saucer by herself and just hung out there while we cleaned the kitchen and worked on making food. She has also made a few more discoveries- the doggy door, the dog food, and the dirt in our potted plant. I have yet to capture a picture because my first thought is the stop the dog food or from entering her opened mouth and prevent my munchkin from discovering the door isn't the only think that leads to the outdoors.
We have also had a few additions to our family. My sister had a baby girl named Brooklyn (not sure how she is spelling it) and my sister-in-law had a baby boy named Calvin shortly after. I have pictures of Calvin, but I have had limited time with Brooklyn so maybe some other time. They are both so cute and I am excited Emma has so many little people to play with!

SPLISH SPLASH

YAY! Emma got in the pool for the first time ever! Well, not the big pool, but her cute little pool. I had been coveting this CUTE giraffe pool that sprays water out its mouth and has a little slide. Finally I broke down and bought it, and I'm so glad I did. Our pool is still too cold to get in so we filled up her little pool with warmer water and let Emma splash away! She had so much fun! The dog even thought it looked fun and climbed up the slide (by herself-wish I had a picture of that) and came in the pool!

6 Months of LIFE

Emma is 6 months old today! I can't believe it! She really is growing up in a big hurry! For about the last week or so she has been trying to crawl. She will prop herself up on her hands and knees and rock or she will do a little bit of the army slide forward. She's been able to move a few inches that way. She is really good at moving backwards too. She scooted backwards from the carpet in front of our kitchen all the way into our bedroom. It is really time to baby-proof now.

Walks With My Baby

Summer is just about here so Emma and I are trying to take advantage of the Spring-ish weather before we melt! We went for a few walks this week and it was so sunny I decided to have Emma wear the sunglasses her Grandma Gilbert gave her. I couldn't stop laughing! She actually loved them! I have been so excited for this Summer! I can't wait to introduce Emma to all of the things I loved as a kid. True, she is too young to appreciate all of them right now, but I have been waiting for this since she was born! Swimming, walking outside in the warm night air, and good old summer shannanigans. I LOVE this time of year!

Growing Up

She was standing infront of her Daddy's legs. So cute!
Emma loves her puppy and is really starting to notice her and want to play with her. Belle is usually really cautious around Emma (the little boys in our family did a good job on initiating her into the world of children) but when she gets interested in Emma they are so cute together.
Emma loves to swing with her Daddy outside, and she was laughing her head off!
Mmm. A face full of cereal. Can you see the cereal above her eye. Not quite sure how it got all the way up there. You would think that I would be able to control where the cereal goes.
This is Emma's Easter dress! She was so cute in it! I can't keep myself from buying the floofiest dress that I can find!

We are finally all healthy and happy! YAY! Emma is reaching some fun milestones, and I love watching her every day to see what she is going to come up with next. Her personality is starting to show, and I often find a whole day gone because I sat down to play with her instead of cleaning or getting something done. Emma can now sit up by herself and roll completely over to both sides. She has also started eating baby food mixed with her cereal. Mmmm Carrots! Emma is now trying out a sippy cup too. So far she has done really well! She is such a sweet girl and loves to give her Mommy hugs, which I LOVE! I am enjoying every day with my baby girl.

Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired!

The Zoo! Emma looks so excited!
She was a little tired at the beginning. Can you see the Zebra? It's hiding behind a tree. Silly Zebra.

These last few weeks have been full of illness for our little family. I blame JD for bringing this dreaded disease into our home (bless his heart). JD wound up sick during his Spring Break which of course is no fun at all. He was sick for twelve days, and still can't hear out of one of his ears all the way because of the ear infection. I thought my immune system would keep me healthy, but I guess I need to be eating a few more veggies! I got sick around the end of Spring Break (when JD started to feel better) and I am still battling this monster! The funny thing is everyone who found out I was sick thought I was pregnant again! Come on people....why didn't you think that when JD was sick?

My sister and her boys came just around the time I was a day or two into it, but I pushed the nastiness aside and went to the Zoo (the Pioneers would be proud). Emma did have an interesting Zoo experience. It was the first time since she's been born that someone thought she was a boy, not once, but twice! Granted, she was dressed boyish with a white shirt and jeans, but I did make sure to put a BIG bow on her head. People!
